Deer Lease

Every year the day of Thanksgiving after we eat lunch we head down to South Texas to the Deer Lease.  The girls were so ready and I think Chuck and I were ready as well!

Officially every girl here knows how to skip a rock!!

Lots of looking for arrowheads.

The beauty of the rock formation is just another Awesome Wonder of the Lord we serve!

This is the Pecos River Bridge, I can just see the Indians now!

We did a lot of eating and hanging out, we also did a lot of 500 count puzzle's, always fun, as well as Scattagories!

Good Ol Deer Burgers!

Works out every year, Hannah manages to always have a buddy!  This year was Clair and they were tight!!

There is this neat museum that is just 30 miles away from the lease and its the Judge Roy Beam Museum.  Very neat.  Even the girls enjoyed it.

Lots of history and corruption!

On our way home we stopped at the Fort McKavett.  Very interesting.  It was a Fort to get away from the Indians in the area during the 1860's.

Lots of history as well, and was so fitting for the fact that Brenley had been learning about Indians and we just finished a project about the Indians.

We sure were thankful to live during our time and not the time that people had to flee and run from the Indians.  We also learn to respect and care about the Indians and their land, because by all accounts they had this land as well.

God is good, and I am so very thankful for my time out in the open range as we were and able to see just HIS magnificent and great Glory!

I can truly say there is not a day that does not go by that I do not catch a glimpse of His Nature, whether it a sunset, or the stars at night, or a dove flying as we drive by, or even as Hannah reads to me!  God is evident everywhere we are, because if your His, his presence is always with you and will never leave you~

Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

And don't get caught up in the business of things and making sure we every thing under the tree, but making sure He is in your heart!  All He ever wanted was our Heart!

The First of Many

Well this was my first year to make our turkey, usually the guys deep fry them, but this year we cooked it and it turned out very good! Yay!  Because I don't know what we would have ate, had it not.  I kept visioning Catherine on National Lampoons Christmas vacation when Clark cuts the Turkey and it deflates.  Oh Funny!!

This was the First Annual Polar plunge for $100

Go Markelle and Addy!

First Ice of the year!
We did not stay in long.  We went to Cracker Barrel one day, shopping, memos and movies to see Frozen.  I didn't want to be frozen in!  It was nice having a early Christmas Break!!
First Dr. Pepper Ice/slush/snow of year!
These are not a first, but I LOVE me some pumpkin pie!

 And cheese cake!

BB one day after school being silly!

First of many of Bball Tourneys!!

Brenley's Field Trip ---- Fort Richardson St. Park

Friday we went with Brenley's 4th grade class to one of our favorite spots, Fort Richardson State Park in Jacksboro Texas.

They had a re-enactment of the civil war.  They had so much history for the kids.  It was one of the best field trips I had ever been on.  Very informal and great for this age group!

And could not have been a better day!

Happy Halloween 2013

Happy Halloween!

Chucks Surgery :(

Please keep my Strong Husband in your prayers!

He had a neck fusion on C-4-5, C-6-7 on September 19.  No certain injury was a result from it.  He just got to where he could not turn his head and we found out through a MRI that he had 2 different herniated disc that were compressing on his spine to where its was being used to less than half.

Directly after surgery he was in pain and has been since then.  He is back at work and all the pain is still there.  We are praying that it will just take time.  He is unable to sit for long periods of time and still just having a lot of pain.

I know that Lord will sustain him and this will and has only made us stronger.    God is good and has blessed the whole surgery and we Know that His hand is every upon Chuck!

We believe that God is healing him each and every single day!

Its Trust and staying in the presence of God continually and just thanking Him and what he has already done and given us in Christ Jesus!

God never said that this Life would be easy, but He said I will walk with you and hold your hand!

Isaiah 58:8
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. (NIV)
